What happens at your first appointment?

You will have the opportunity to share with your therapist the reasons you are seeking services, along with background information you feel is important in understanding you and your situation. Your therapist will ask questions to help clarify your concerns and primary goals for treatment. Each therapist then carefully formulates an individualized treatment plan tailored to your unique needs and goals.

In addition to traditional “talk therapy” methods, your therapist might also incorporate structured journaling, mindfulness meditations, art projects, outside reading, and homework assignments if you desire. Several of our clinicians have additional training & certifications in areas such as DBT, EMDR, Prolonged Exposure, ART, and more. Christian faith-based counseling is also available when specifically requested.

“Sometimes when you’re in a dark place you think you’ve been buried, but you’ve actually been planted.”
