About Robert

Clients find themselves quickly at ease with Dr. Evanko. His genuine interest, sense of humor, and fundamental wisdom have made him a highly sought resource in the Tampa Bay area for more than three decades.

Rob sees teens (14+) and adults for individual, couples, and family therapy. He uses a variety of counseling approaches to include: CBT, Jungian, Client-Centered, Positive Psychology, and incorporates a Christian faith-based approach whenever requested.

In addition, Rob is a qualified supervisor for mental health counselor interns working toward Florida state licensure.

Rob states: “My main priority is to find compassionate and creative ways to connect with each individual and their families, taking into account various aspects of personality, personal interests, strengths, family backgrounds, and past or current levels of trauma.” Rob believes effective counseling relies on remaining sensitive to the unique needs of each individual in the family.

He received his Ph.D. in Jungian Psychology in 2000 from Westbrook University and his MA in Rehabilitation Counseling in 1986 from USF. He has extensive experience working in community mental health and the juvenile justice system and has been at Growth & Recovery since 2014.
