A little bit about our history

Founded in 2013 by Joy Davis, LCSW, our name was inspired by the tenacity and courage Joy witnessed when her clients entered treatment and committed to reaching for a vibrant & recovered life. The purple colors you see in our logo mirror the color of the crocus flowers that grew in her front yard in the Appalachian mountains as a child.

The crocus was the first flower to appear in the earliest of Spring, often struggling to grow through rocky soil, frozen earth & snow before finally emerging and blooming into its full glory. A symbol of strength, courage, and hope. To grow and to recover.

Growth & Recovery Counseling

Today…

Today…

Growth & Recovery Counseling is a mental health private practice serving children, teens, adults, and older adults. We offer in-person individual, couples, family, and group psychotherapies. Appointments are available 6 days a week, with both day and evening time slots to provide maximum scheduling flexibility for our clients.

Serving Our Community

We are also dedicated to active involvement in and service to the community by promoting mental health wellness. Over the years our center has offered free educational seminars, mental health awareness events, and stress management classes during the holidays. We also typically have a master’s program student intern available at our office for a dramatically reduced rate for clients without insurance or financial means to obtain services otherwise.

Finally, we also place great importance on maintaining strong relationships with our clinical colleagues out in the community. We do this, in part, by coordinating continuing education and networking opportunities, partnering for community awareness events, and maintaining referral resource information to share with clients.
