About Nicole Williams
Nikki’s clinical focus includes treating adult women with Anxiety, Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder, stressors of college, and life transitions or adjustments (such as the time from college to adult-life). She uses a blend of many different approaches based on the individual which can include Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, Solution-Focused Brief Therapy, Exposure and Response Prevention, and Mindfulness. In addition to these theoretical approaches, she looks at the “whole person” to assist in identifying stressors in daily life such as finances, communication, self-esteem, or other areas that can impact a person’s mental health. Nikki also works with teens struggling with anxiety or life adjustments.
An NAIA student athlete during college for 3 years and NCAA another year during graduate school, plus years privately coaching, Nikki has a special heart and understanding for the stresses and mental health challenges faced by student athletes. Serving this population is one of her great passions.
Nikki received her MSW from Tulane University in New Orleans, LA in 2018. Prior to joining Growth & Recovery she worked as a school social worker and an outpatient therapist.
As part of the therapeutic process, Nikki will assign “homework” or tasks that will complement your sessions and help solidify the insights gained. These assignments are tailored to your unique needs and are aimed at providing you with practical tools, strategies, and self-reflection exercises. Engaging in activities outside of sessions allows clients to apply what is discussed, deepen their understanding, and develop new perspectives.
Nikki is a professional member of the International OCD Foundation (IOCDF). This organization provides up-to-date education and resources, delivers quality professional training, and advances groundbreaking research in the treatment of Obsessive Compulsive Disorder. Involvement in IOCDF allows Nikki to stay abreast in her field and to provide her clients with the most effective, current, evidence-based care possible.
