A clinician in the field for more than 30 years, Joy is the founder of the Growth & Recovery Counseling Center in Trinity. Joy has recently retired from her psychotherapy practice and now exclusively handles administrative duties at our office.

Taylor Barchowski, MA
Registered Mental Health Counselor Intern

Taylor works with ages 6 through young adults. She works both individually with clients and collaboratively with parents. Taylor specializes in helping her clients address anxiety, depression, interpersonal trauma, divorce recovery, grief, self-criticism, and difficulties with life changes.

Her approach is warm, holistic, and relational. Taylor pulls from a variety of treatment techniques which include CBT, ACT, Play-therapy, Somatic therapy, and Strength-based approaches--tailoring the treatment plan to meet each client’s individual needs. As a Certified Yoga Teacher, she also integrates yoga practices into sessions if requested. Available 3 days/week. As a registered intern, Taylor offers reduced fee private pay arrangements only. Jennifer Bargerhuff
Masters Program Clinical Student Intern

Jennifer joins us for her mental health counseling student internship through mid-December 2021. Offering individual and family therapy for those experiencing depression, anxiety, low self esteem, codependency, relationship challenges, loss, and more. 

Jennifer utilizes a cognitive-behavioral and solution-focused approach in her sessions. She also offers a Christian-counseling focus when requested. Supervised by Emilie Ellenberg, LMHC. 

Larry Baumgartner, LMFT
Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist

Larry specializes in and offers hope to couples working through infidelity/affairs, communication and relationship issues. As a Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist, he helps couples reconnect, rebuild, and restore their relationship to where they want it to be. Larry also sees adults for individual therapy to address depression, anxiety, job stress, and life transitions. He is also known across Tampa Bay as the go-to therapist for professionals.

Linda Berkowitz, LMHC
Licensed Mental Health Counselor

Linda offers individual, family, and couples counseling for clients age 3 and up. Her specialties include: parenting concerns, behavior issues, trauma & domestic violence, divorce recovery, stress management, depression/anxiety, and personality disorders. Linda also has an extensive background in Play Therapy techniques.

Alexa Buford, MSW
Registered Clinical Social Work Intern
Somatic Movement Practitioner

Alexa works with adolescents(12+) and adults. She specializes in treating eating disorders, complex relational trauma, codependency, low self esteem, difficult life transitions, and general mental health concerns such as depression and anxiety. She also offers related psychoeducation to loved ones.

Alexa utilizes many modalities for an integrated and creative approach to therapy. She holds compassionate space for her clients to feel heard, understood, and valued. She supports her clients in developing strong internal boundaries and a stronger sense of self and clarity of purpose. She will also guide her clients in developing mindful awareness of their bodies so that they may deepen their understanding and capacity for expressing and regulating their emotions. Yoga, spirituality, meditations, movement, and/or art therapy can be incorporated into individual treatment as requested by the client.

Bruce "BJ" Develle, LCSW
Licensed Clinical Social Worker

Available evenings and weekends, BJ Develle especially enjoys helping parents with teens both through parenting skills support and couple/relationship preservation tools. He also has extensive experience working with the chronically ill and their caregivers. This particular background has made him an incredibly helpful resource for area healthcare providers experiencing strain and stress related to their service during the COVID pandemic. Additional areas of specialty include: men's issues, depression/anxiety, stress management, and grief/loss.

Nicole Di Monda, LMHC

Specializing in ages 6 through young adulthood, Nicole offers individual, family and couples therapies. Those struggling with depression, anxiety, OCD, eating disorders, trauma, Borderline Personality, and self harm will find both comfort and challenge for growth in her earnest, caring style. Nicole incorporates CBT and DBT interventions into her treatment plans and is trained in Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART).

Andrea Dolgin, MSW

Andrea offers individual therapy for adolescents and adults addressing eating disorders, anxiety, depression, trauma, low self esteem, and relationship issues. Prior to receiving her Master of Social Work degree, she was a practicing attorney and served as a volunteer sexual assault victim advocate at the Crisis Center of Tampa Bay. Throughout her masters training, Andrea was a clinical student intern at Growth & Recovery.

Brooke Eggimann, LCSW

Trauma Specialist

Brooke specializes in helping adult clients resolve painful reactions to traumatic event(s). Her techniques include EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization & Reprocessing), PE (Prolonged Exposure Therapy) and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, often resulting in substantial relief in under 12 sessions. She has extensive experience working with veterans, receiving numerous awards for her service to this population. Brooke finds these methods also helpful for anyone who feels "stuck" or "unable to get past" a disturbing life event, or for those whose self-esteem has been deeply damaged from specific past experiences. If desired, Brooke will incorporate a Christian faith-based approach to help clients reach their individual and spiritual goals. Evening hours are available by appointment. Emilie offers individual, group & family therapies for teens & adults with eating disorders, addictions, and general mental health concerns. She uses primarily a Cognitive-Behavioral approach in her work with clients while incorporating mindfulness techniques to treat the whole person. Emilie is also a Certified Yoga Teacher and a Level 2 Reiki Practitioner.

Emilie is a past Board Member of the Suncoast Mental Healthy Counselors Association and a member of the International Association of Eating Disorders Professionals. She also offers Qualified Licensure Supervision for State Registered Interns.

Jen Gobeli, LCSW

In addition to seeing private clients at Growth & Recovery, she is also the Regional Director of Behavioral Health at a local non-profit agency. Nicole specializes in the treatment of individuals age 18 and over who struggle with addiction, grief, trauma, depression, and/or issues with anxiety. She combines both cognitive behavioral and solution-focused therapies to help clients improve their ability to manage difficult life stresses. Gabby Lafond, MSW
Registered Clinical Social Worker Intern

Gabby provides individual & family therapy for ages 12 and up, with a special passion for helping teens and young adults. Her areas of specialty include: eating disorders, body image and self esteem concerns, anxiety/depression, self-harming, difficulties of blended families, trauma, grief, and challenging life transitions. Gabby carefully designs a unique treatment plan for each client, incorporating CBT, DBT, and experiential methods.

Mia Mikesell, MA
Registered Mental Health Counselor Intern

Mia is available to see women ages 15 and up and their families. Her areas of specialty include grief/loss, anxiety, stress resilience, self esteem, and relationships. She has worked in mental health & human services in a variety of settings to include bereavement camps, mentorship programs, and outpatient treatment. Mario Morano, LMHC
Licensed Mental Health Counselor

Mario has worked in community mental health and inpatient treatment centers for nine years prior to entering private practice at our suite. He specializes in working with adolescents and adults who struggle with anger, depression, anxiety, substance abuse, family relationships, technology addiction, issues related to working in the healthcare & mental health fields, and traumatic life events. Mario is trained in Accelerated Resolution Therapy (A.R.T.), an approach that can decrease and even resolve PTSD symptoms in as few as 1 - 2 sessions.

Christine has 12 years of community services and counseling experience across a variety of treatment settings and levels of care. Christine is also a Qualified Supervisor for mental health counselors working toward licensure.
Christine is eclectic in her approach and uses a blend of Cognitive Behavioral, Solution Focused, Mindfulness, and Psycho-education tools. She also likes to utilize humor, as laughter at times can be the best therapy! Christine also enjoys exploring with her clients about how mind, spirit, and body are interconnected.

For more than 20 years, Mary Ann has been providing psychotherapy services to young people (ages 14+) and adults. Initially from NY where she obtained both her undergraduate and masters degrees, Mary Ann has experience working in out-patient settings, medical offices, and child development centers.
Her areas of specialty include: women's issues, depression, anxiety, trauma, and emotional eating. Mary Ann has additional training in providing EMDR for trauma survivors. Clients describe Mary Ann as compassionate, concerned & engaged, and especially helpful in offering alternative ideas to help them reach their goals.
