In the field for more than 25 years, Joy is the founder of the Growth & Recovery Counseling Center in Trinity.

Joy specializes in the treatment of adults who struggle with eating disorders, depression, high levels of stress, anxiety, and issues with body image and self esteem. In addition to meeting with clients individually, Joy also has a great passion for working with women in groups. 

She has served as an eating disorders expert and writer for goodtherapy.org, is an active member of the International Association of Eating Disorder Professionals, and has been awarded certification as an eating disorders specialist (CEDS). 

Joy frequently incorporates art, music, meditations, structured journaling and other creative approaches into her psychotherapy sessions when clients wish to explore issues beyond the spoken word.  Joy is known for her love for her work, her affirming, gentle-but-direct style, and her ability to connect with clients in a real and personal way.
 

Jackie Breuer, LMFT
Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist

Jackie has worked in the mental health field for almost 2 decades providing individual, family, and couples counseling. She has a special heart for working with adults who struggle with low self-esteem, depression/anxiety, and codependency issues. Jackie helps her clients build stronger relationships, reduce family conflict, and adjust to difficult life transitions together. She also has additional training in providing EMDR, a specialized intervention for trauma survivors.

Jackie is a FL-Qualified Supervisor available to train registered MFT interns. 

Described by colleagues & clients as highly-skilled, sensitive and a person of genuine warmth, Jackie is available Tuesdays through Thursdays, both day and evening timeslots.  She accepts Aetna, Cigna, Magellan, Humana, Single Care, Compsych, Ceridian, & Health Advocates EAPs, and offers a special reduced self-pay rate.

 
Robert Evanko, PhD, LMHC

Dr. Rob Evanko has a true gift for engaging children/teens (age 10+) and their families. He has served the Tampa Bay area for three decades, having worked within the juvenile justice system, wilderness treatment programs, and outpatient community mental health. Rob’s main priority as a counselor is to find compassionate & creative ways to connect with each individual family member—giving special attention to personal interest areas/strengths, unique personalities, experiences & family backgrounds.
Additional specialization areas include: fractured marital relationships, depression, anxiety, ADHD, grief, anger/rage, life transitions, & divorce recovery.
 
He obtained his BA in Psychology, his Masters in Rehabilitation Counseling from USF, and his Doctorate in Jungian Psychotherapy from Westbrook University in New Mexico. Rob is affiliated with the American Mental Health Counselors Association and is a qualified supervisor for licensure candidates in the state of Florida.
 
Rob is available to see clients on Saturdays only and is able to accept self-paying clients, Aetna, Cigna, Humana, Single Care, Magellan, and Tricare insurances.

 
Adelina Liberto, LCSW

For two decades Lina has provided psychotherapy for children ages 5 - 12, adolescents, young adults & their families. She is highly experienced in play therapy techniques and specializes in helping clients address stress, loss, low self-esteem, parenting concerns, trauma, abuse, lost trust in relationships, divorce aftermath, anxiety and depression.  
 
Lina will provide a safe, non-judgmental environment where you can strengthen your capacity to engage with others, navigate through what is making you feel stuck, enhance your problem-solving skills, and generate a solid plan of action.  
 
She received her Bachelor's and Master's degrees in social work from New York University.  She is an active member of the National Association of Social Workers and earned an Academy of Certified Social Workers designation through NASW in 1994.  
 
Adelina is fluent in Spanish and available to see clients weekdays as well as one evening per week. Adelina accepts the following insurances: Blue Cross, Baycare, Ceridian, Cigna, Humana, Magellan, and United Healthcare.
 
 
Gabby Lafond
MSW Clinical Student Intern

Gabby joins us for her clinical internship through May 2019 while she completes her masters in social work from USF.  Under the supervision of Joy Davis, LCSW, Gabby will be specializing in helping teens and young adults who are struggling with eating disorders, self esteem, body image concerns, depression, anxiety, and grief.  Primarily offering individual counseling, she will also be co-leading a number of our groups. Gabby has limited availability on Sundays and two days during the week.  As a student intern, Gabby sees clients for only $15/session and does not accept insurance.

Dr. Altabe is a remote affiliate of Growth & Recovery.  After relocating to Atlanta, she opened her practice to telehealth to continue to work with Florida clients and to offer telehealth to individuals who may have difficulty maintaining regular appointments due to chronic health conditions or caregiving responsibilities. Some insurances cover telehealth.

Kristina Ball, LMHC

Kristina offers individual, family, and couples counseling for adolescents & adults.  She specializes in eating disorders, substance abuse, mood disorders, depression, anxiety, grief, and general life "curve balls."
 
Having received her Bachelor's Degree in theatre from Carnegie Mellon University and her Masters in Mental Health Counseling from Nova Southeastern, Kristina uses an eclectic approach to therapy including experiential work.  She also incorporates a Christian faith-based approach whenever desired.

Jennifer Baptie, LMHC

Jen has been providing therapy for children (ages 6+), adolescents, adults, and their families since 2001. She specializes in individual & group therapy for people who struggle with addictions, eating disorders, self-harming behaviors, anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship issues, and low self esteem.  She is also well-versed in such approaches as Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Solution Focused Therapy, Emotional Freedom Techniques, art & play therapies.

Patricia specializes in treating children, adolescents, and adults who struggle with anxiety, OCD, behavioral issues, and eating disorders. In the field since 2011, she has worked in residential programs, home settings, IOP and PHP programs. She obtained her masters degree in Counselor Education from USF.
 
Patricia has office hours on Saturdays & Sundays.  When real-life exposures are needed in the treatment of OCD and fears, Patricia is able to meet clients outside of the office in whatever setting is needed. Brooke specializes in helping adult clients resolve painful reactions to traumatic event(s).  Her techniques include EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization & Reprocessing), PE (Prolonged Exposure Therapy) and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, often resulting in substantial relief in under 12 sessions. She has extensive experience working with veterans, receiving numerous awards for her service to this population.  Brooke finds these methods also helpful for anyone who feels "stuck" or "unable to get past" a disturbing life event, or for those whose self-esteem has been deeply damaged from specific past experiences. If desired, Brooke will incorporate a Christian faith-based approach to help clients reach their individual and spiritual goals.

Nicole specializes in the treatment of individuals age 18 and over who struggle with addiction, grief, depression, and/or issues with anxiety.  She combines both cognitive behavioral and solution-focused therapies to help clients improve their ability to manage difficult life stresses.
 
Nicole received Masters degrees in both Mental Health & Rehabilitation Counseling as well as in Human Behavior.

Christina received her bachelors in Nutrition & Dietetics from the University of New Haven and her Masters in Health Education concentrating in Eating Disorders from Plymouth State. She has a broad experience with varying levels of care including: inpatient, residential treatment, partial hospitalization, and intensive outpatient.  She is excited to transition clients back home from their previous treatment center or even get a fresh start!  Food exposures, intuitive eating, meal planning & coaching are just a few examples of nutrition therapy provided.
